This course will equip academic and professional services staff from outside the UK with the knowledge, skills, and intercultural competencies needed to deliver, support, and manage UK transnational education (TNE) programmes to UK standards.
The strong emphasis on quality assurance, pedagogical practice, curriculum design, student engagement, assessment integrity, as well as practicalities and cultural norms for TNE Provisions.
Unit 2: Delivering UK Higher Education Transnationally – Academic Practice and Student Experience
Indicative content
- Critically compare, review and design curricula that align learning outcomes, teaching activities, and assessment methods to ensure quality and coherence in TNE.
- Examine inclusive and participatory pedagogical strategies that foster student engagement and success across diverse TNE contexts.
- Examine marking practices, internal moderation processes, and the role of external examiners in upholding academic standards in TNE.
- Critically compare issues related to academic integrity, cultural perspectives on plagiarism, and assessment design that fosters ethical learning.
- Describe and evaluate systems of student advising and support that promote belonging, academic resilience, and student success in TNE settings.
- Critically compare the application of digital tools and pedagogical models for enhancing teaching and learning in fully online and hybrid TNE programmes.

The primary learning would be through Synchronous teaching where you would also have opportunities to review the teaching content offline at your own pace.
Our course provides an interactive learning experience and allows you to study at your own pace. You will be encouraged to interact with other course participants, and each Unit will involve group activities.

Each Unit will be assessed by coursework and a comprehensive written assignment, video-based assessment or equivalent.
Contact time and study hours
You should aim to study for a total of 300 hours throughout the course (3 months). Coursework activities you will engage in via our virtual learning environment are presented to you within the unit.
